Caribbean forwards Jermaine Johnson (Jamaica) and Rodney Jack (St.Vincent) were called up by their countries for World Cup qualifyers.
JJ was on the bench but did not play for Jamaica as they drew 1-1 with the USA in Kingston. Tranmere defender Ian Goodison put Jamaica ahead before Brian Ching equalised for the Americans.
Jack did play, however - and superbly according to reports. They lost to Trinidad and Tobago 2-0, with both the goals coming in the final 11 minutes.
According to a Trinadadian website, Jack inspired St. Vincent, and put Trinidad and Tobago under pressure for long spells of the game.
Both should be in the Latics squad for Saturday's League One game against Hull, but JJ's return to England has been put on hold.
Along with Tranmere Rovers players Ian Goodison and Theodore Whitmore, JJ was refused permission to board his flight Thursday morning.
This is apparently because the Jamaican government is cracking down on visa's and passports. Jermaine's agent is working with the Jamaican government to bring JJ back. Hopefully he will be back and rearing to go at the KC Stadium on Saturday.
