Official - The deal is off!!!

After the news that Chris Moore had signed, sealed and delivered the sale of the club to Vidar Fossdal, the head of a Norwegian consortium, it has been confirmed that the group have now pulled out of the deal to buy the Latics.

A source close to the Latics has confirmed that Fossdal spoke with the main backer of the consortium on Friday morning and was told that the money was no longer available. This has led to Fossdal having to pull out of the club-saving deal and leaves the Latics back in financial ruin.

Little more is known at present but the deal, which was hoped would end the on-going saga, is dead. More news will follow when available.
