Tope Obadeyi was the final piece of the jigsaw at Boundary Park when he signed on deadline day. The left winger comes on loan until the end of the season. He scored 29 goals when he was at Kilmarnock and then he joined Dundee. He has also worked under John Sheridan when he was manager of Chesterfield so he hopes to make an immediate impact against his old team on Saturday.
He commented, “I’m happy to be here. It got done last minute on deadline day but I managed to get sorted out with Dundee United and got the call from the gaffer here to come down and hopefully I can help the club stay in the league. I feel like I’ve got a lot to prove in the English game and I feel I can do that here. I’m here to play, get my head down and hopefully keep us in the league. I have worked with him [Sheridan] at two clubs. I feel like I work well under him and we know each other well. He knows my game and I know how he likes to play and how he would want me to play so it was a big plus for me coming down here."
"I’m a wide man, can play on either flank or up top. I like to get at players and my game is mainly to get at the defence and hopefully get some goals and assists on the way. As a winger you get judged on your end product and I hope to bring that to the team and help them stay in the division.”
