Athletic’s new potential investor is a businessman and he has begun talks with PKF regarding a take-over of the club. The Latic’s Chairman Barry Chaytow was in on the talks and said, “Things need to move quickly and I’m hopeful of
that happening now PKF are involved.”

If the club do not convince the FA that they have enough money to continue trading by September 30th. the administrators are likely to close them down. Even if the new investor falls through it is expected that the £500,000 which is so desperately needed will be raised. This will at least allow the club to survive for another couple of weeks.
