Richie Wellens (pictured) has given his weight to the argument that the Latics will be no pushovers when they face Blackpool in the play-off fixtures. He said, "I still know three or four of the lads there but there's been a big turnover of players and they've got a big squad now. Obviously they've been on a great run and are confident, as they should be. We're not going to roll over though, don't worry about that. Obviously Blackpool score lots of goals but they've let a few in as well. Andy Morrell is in form, Keigan Parker's very quick and Wes Hoolahan is a good player. All we need to do is concentrate on ourselves. If we play to our best we can win. We're quietly confident."

"Pretty much every time we've had a big crowd here we've performed so far. The young players don't hide and the experienced ones enjoy the prospect, I think. There was a big crowd there against Chesterfield, and they kept with us and didn't get on our backs. Okay, we didn't win by three or four but we did a professional job. Hopefully there will be a another good turnout on Sunday and we'll show the character to put on a good display for them. The fans really can make the difference, and they proved that on Saturday."

Simon Charlton also kicked in his two pennorth saying, "I'm experienced enough to know that most pundits don't know what they're talking about. Blackpool are on a good run to be fair whereas we had tailed off a bit until the last two games, but these two games are both cup finals there to be won on the day. It's important we start the game well as we always seem to perform better when we get in and around teams in the first ten minutes. If we get a good start then hopefully we can take a lead back to their place."

Charlton played in the Bolton side that defeated Preston North End 3-0 in 2001 play-off final and admitted, "It was one of the highlights of my career. We beat Preston, funnily enough Sean Gregan was playing for them, and did so comfortably. To be 3-0 up with five minutes left was nice. We knew we were going to win and I was able to enjoy the rest of the game. The whole day was impossible to describe. You have to live through it, and I hope the players and families here get the opportunity to do that."
