Middlesbrough are leading a Premiership race to capture Athletic’s exciting 21-year-old prospect, Fitz Hall. Signed from non league Chesham just six months ago for £20,000 it is expected that the 6ft. 4in. young defender could now
bring in a fee of up to £2million. Hall was released as a teenager by West Ham and made only his 12th. league appearance for the Latics in the 1-0 win over Bristol City.

Classed as one of the most promising defensive prospects outside the Premiership, it is believed that Blackburn and Sunderland are also keeping a close eye on his performances. Whatever transpires in the future, Hall will remain with Athletic at least until January 1st., as the transfer window is closed for Premiership clubs.

Chris Moore has a burning desire to keep promotion chasing Oldham together but would find the lure of a rapid profit very difficult to refuse. Alan Hardy admitted, “There have been no approaches, but we aren’t surprised Fitz is attracting attention from Premiership clubs.”
