Athletic's promising teenager David Mellor has been attracting lots of interest from Premier League clubs after his impressive display in the televised game against Franchise FC last week.
Fulham have already had a £300,000 bid rejected and it is now rumoured that they have increased their offer to £500,000 and hope to close the deal in the next transfer window. Mellor recently signed a new two-year professional contract at the club.
Alan Hardy commented, “It was a tempting offer, but not one we chose to accept at the time.”
