Jacob Mellis, who formerly played for Chelsea and Barnsley, has been signed on a loan deal from Blackpool until the end of the season. Mellis' career has been controversial as he was sacked by Chelsea after he admitted to setting off a smoke grenade inside the ground. He has also been cautioned for assault after a fight.
Lee Johnson hopes that Mellis can add an extra dimension to his team and said, “He has got talent and that just needs to be channelled. I don’t think he is a bad kid and probably thinks he is misunderstood. What he needs is the right environment and we believe we can provide that. It is on him now. There will be ups and downs, but he has the quality to be good for us.”
