McCarthy interest wanes

Jon McCarthy, recently released by Birmingham City, was the Northern Ireland International striker who was being watched as a possible signing by Athletic, but after being watched in South America at the weekend they have decided that he does not fit the bill.


The Latics might well move their search closer to home by checking out Manchester City’s New Zealand International Chris Killen who has found himself knocked down the pecking order at City following all their summer signings.
