Striker Matt Smith has signed for Leeds United on a two-year contract. The out-of-contract player is 24-years-old and recently rejected a new deal to stay on at Boundary Park.
Smith joined the Latics from Solihull Moors in the summer of 2011 and made made 21 starts and 54 substitute appearances. Never really thrown in and given a proper chance, the youngster still managed to score14 goals. Last season's FA Cup exploits rose Smith in stature after he knocked two goals in in the famous 3-2 victory over mighty Liverpool. He followed up with goals in both of the fifth-round ties against Everton. Good luck Matty and thanks for the memories.
