John Sheridan had mixed feelings about the game and said, "We showed character to get back into the game after being two-nil down. You think you've lost it at 3-2 at the end, but fair play to the lads. They battled, didn't give in and we've got a point. I'm disappointed with the goals we conceded. Our home form has been very good, and we've played very well in lots of games, but one or two people didn't perform today. The players have already set the standards they need to keep to. I don't want to sound negative, but we were looking to take three points. I've told the lads to get their heads up. The ones that didn't perform know that they didn't, and that's good. We looked a little bit unbalanced. No-one has to tell me that Chris Taylor isn't a left-back and Craig Rocastle isn't a left winger. It was my decision, no-one else's, and it possibly didn't work as well as it did against Rotherham as Orient had a lot of width. I can hear people crying out and that's not a problem."
Shez's counterpart, Leyton Orient's Martin Ling was naturally disappointed and said, "It's our first point away from home. We've been taking little steps, but today was a massive stride. We should have killed the game at two-nil, but if you don't mark in the box, then you're going to get punished. Porter was left free for their first goal, and the lad got the other side of Justin Miller for the penalty. That's our Achilles heel, letting goals in at the other end, and it's not good enough. It's a case of either you can't do it, or you don't want to. The league table doesn't lie, especially in the goals against column. Although I wasn't in the best position to see (the penalty incident), it looked like our lad had hold of something, and I thought that the referee would give it. Personally, I thought it was a penalty."
