"Some of the possession play was good and we did put pressure on Oldham. It was good to see the defenders on the scoresheet. Sean Morrison went through like a seasoned campaigner and he had a very good game. It was a cool finish and he has really come on in the last few games. He is growing up and learning his trade. I had to look again when I saw Jack Smith set the ball up, but I have said to the players I am happy for them to sort those things out. Jack was more relaxed taking the penalty than ourselves watching from the dugout. The performance level was back up there and it is good that we have a game coming round again so soon. We want to give them the platform to go and play and Tuesday night at Walsall will give them the chance to do just that."
Malpass delighted with the win
Swindon Town manager Maurice Malpass was delighted as he watched his team register their first back to back success of the season against a sorry looking Oldham Athletic. Malpass told the official Robins website, "The clean sheet was great news and there were quite a few things to enjoy from that performance. We never tried to put too much pressure on the players, but although we got the result on Tuesday the disappointment was still there after the Northampton game. The goalkeeper needed it, the defenders needed it so we were delighted to have not conceded. It's amazing what happens when you get a win, and the confidence was certainly flowing through the team today. We looked happier today and that's what it is about."
