Latics sign Portugese prospect

Athletic have signed 19 year old Luis Lourenco from top Portugese side Sporting Lisbon on a season long loan deal, pending the mandatory medical. Lourenco has been capped by Portugal at under 16,17,18,19, and 20 level and is regarded by Lisbon as a hot prospect.


He had a previous English loan spell at Bristol City as an 18 year old. Iain
Dowie said, “I've seen him play for Portugal a couple of times and he has been highly recommended to me, he is an exciting player and is strong and powerful.”
