Athletic will play one more friendly game in their build up to the season. After their opening game, a behind-closed-doors clash with Belgian top side Cercle Brugge in Blackburn, they will travel to meet Welsh Premier League side Rhyl at their Belle Vue ground on July 16th. July with a 7:30pm. KO.
Manager John Sheridan was conscious that there would not be enough opportunities for all his players to shine in the game with Cercle Brugge so he hurriedly arranged the game at Rhyl.
Rhyl finished third in the Welsh Premier League last season and have extensive European experience. Andy Holden, now reserve team manager at Everton, was insrumental in setting up the game as he played for Rhyl before joining Athletic.
