the end of the season. Another game which is to be televised is at Cardiff in January, but the away team only receive £10,000 for live league matches.
A delighted Alan Hardy (pictured) said, “We have been missed out by television for the last two or three years and, in view of our financial situation, this is a Godsend. It will go towards the amount we need to keep going, but we still need people to back the ‘Sponsor a Seat’ campaign and continue their great support.”
Manager Iain Dowie is hoping for better display at Burton after coming back from the dead to earn a replay. He said, “We weren’t clinical enough on Saturday, which was down to anxiety, and in the end we were grateful for a fantastic header by Fitz. I’ve played in non-league myself so I know how these things can work. We wanted to go through in one hit, but we’ll just have to go there and prove who are the second-division side.”
Another boost is that Clyde Wijnhard should soon make his comeback, hopefully in the Burton replay.
