The Latics have taken goalkeeper Ben Amos on loan from Manchester United. The 20 year old has signed for the remainder of the season and went straight into the first team in the 2-0 home success over Swindon Town.
He said, “I have been looking to get out on loan for some time as I need to be playing games. Now United have this week completed the signing of Danish keeper Anders Lindegaard it is going to be even more difficult to get games which is why I am here. I am delighted to be here and looking forward to hopefully helping Oldham in their bid to make the play offs.”
Amos has made three first-team appearances for United and played the biggest game of his short career last month against Valencia in the Champions League in front of a full house at Old Trafford. He went on, “It was a surprise, a nice surprise to get the chance to play in that game. I was more excited than nervous. It is no use being nervous as I wanted to maximise the chance I was given.”
