On Tuesday morning Sky Sports reported, "Parker is expected to leave the Galpharm Stadium after falling out of favour under [Huddersifled manager] Lee Clark." In what appears to have been an extremely quick deal Oldham's official website confirmed the signing earlier this evening. Parker becomes the third ex-Terrier to become a Latics player following the signings of Abbot and Worthington. So, what can we expect from Mr Parker?
In his 233 (108) league and cup appearances Parker has scored a total of 68 goals. With an average of one goal to every four games his goal-to-game ratio is far from prolific yet his pace and skill has proven to provide problems for League 1 defences since his arrival at Blackpool in 2004.
Parker was slowly frozen out of last season's Huddersfield side making only 16 appearances and scoring twice. On his performance rate the late Jade Goodey gave Parker an extremely generous "eleven out of ten". Only time will tell how accurate her rating actually was.
