Athletic have received bids for several of their first-team players but Simon Corney has given the clubs involved the message that they will not be released for nothing. With seven players signed already and the manager suggesting that he may still add another couple of signings, the Latics are top heavy with numbers and wages.Corney said, "We've been very cute in the transfer market and, without blowing our own trumpet too much, we've negotiated hard, brought in the right players and not had to re-mortgage the club to do it. There's offers out on a few of our players, we're making no secret of that, but until the right price comes along, we'll be doing everything we can to keep hold of them."
