The Latics again fell to a late goal to lose another game which should have brought at least one point as a reward. It is becoming too much of a habit to concede late in the game and questions as to the players' concentration should be asked. Manager Paul Dickov said, “We didn't deserve than and in the second half I thought there was only going to be one team who would win it. I thought we were by far the better team and again you are talking about fine lines. We had two wonder strikes from Chris Taylor and Shefki Kuqi, one hit the post and I don't know how the second one didn't go in. Alan Sheehan put in one for them at the end, and that was the difference. As for application, effort and attitude, I thought we were excellent and we didn't deserve to lose.”
The Latics boss claimed that Filipe Morais was fouled in the build up to the match winning goal. He went on, “We have asked the referee and he said it was not intentional, but I thought a foul was a foul.”
