It was an unhappy manager who reflected upon the 4-1 drubbing that the Latics received at the hands of Colchester United yesterday.
Paul Dickov said, “We wanted a good start and conceded a goal inside 20 seconds and then did likewise at the start of the second half which left us with a mountain to climb.”
“Sometimes when you are sat in the stand it works the other way and you learn a lot about your players. There were a lot of individuals I am not happy with. I don't know after back-to-back wins the players thought all of a sudden they were a fantastic team. I got that impression.”
“We got ourselves back into the game by making it 1-1 without playing particularly well, but the penalty changed the whole outlook of the game.”
