Shefki Kuqi got off to a flying start when he made his debut for Athletic in the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town. He scored within six minutes of his debut debut and assures fans that they have not seen the best of him yet. The Flying Finn treated the Boundary Park faithful by celebrating the goal with his trademark bellyflop dive.
Kuqi said, “It was a good start, but I am disappointed we didn't get three points which would have been great. I was a little disappointed with my performance and I need a couple of games to get sharp and to where I want to be. I will also get to know the players better by then and they will also know me as well. I think things can only get better from here.”
“When I spoke to the gaffer before signing he told me about the team and the confidence he has in the young players and I am sure they can only get better as we saw because everybody was disappointed we had not won.”
