Athletic have signed 20 year old 6’-1” Manchester City striker Chris Killen on a four-year contract for a fee of £200,000. Killen has been a target for Iain Dowie for some time and he believes that Killen can be a prolific scorer in the Second Division. He has played at International level for New Zealand 12 times, averaging almost a goal per game, and he helped his country to lift the Oceania Nations Cup.
Killen has had two spells out on loan. His first spell was at Wrexham where he scored his first league goal......ironically against Athletic. His second spell was at Port Vale where he hit six goals in 10 League and Cup appearances. Even with this signing Dowie is still on the hunt for another midfielder.
