Killen on his way to Easter Road
Last updated : 08 January 2006 By Dave Moore
Latics striker Chris Killen could be on his way to Hibernian after the Easter Road club watched him score a hat trick in last weeks reserve match against Bury. Killen, reported to be on a big contract at Boundary Park, has not proved that he can fit in with Ronnie Moore's style of play and the player's contract expires this summer. He has had more break downs than a 20 year old Lada and came on as substitiue against table topping Southend but he had not previously figured in the first team plans since last October.
Killen arrived from Manchester City in back in 2002 and is reputed to be 'earning' about £6,000-per-week. The club have announced that Hibs have made an official approach and subject to "one or two formalities" Killen could be on his way to Scotland immediately as the Latics are prepared to release him for a nominal fee. Hibs manager Tony Mowbray has to decide whether to offer the New Zealand International an immediate contract or wait until he becomes a free agent at the end of the current season.
