Ex-Latics goalkeeper Gary Kelly is suffering from cancer and has already had one operation to remove part of his upper arm. He will also be undergoing more surgery soon. Kelly made 265 appearances for the Latics between 1996 and 2003 and is still remembered as one of the club's best ever goalkeepers.
