Welsh international James Wilson has agreed terms with the Latics after being released by Bristol City.
The central defender joined Bristol in 2007 and made over 30 appearances at Ashton Gate. He spent three months on loan with Brentford at the start of the 2008/09 season and was awarded a winners medal when they won the League Two title. The following season he returned to Brentford on loan until the end of the year. There then followed a month on loan with Cheltenham Town in September 2013.
Wilson can also play at right back and has joined the club until the end of the season with an option to further extend his stay.
