The hunt for a new manager continues with almost every out-of-work manager being linked to the club – it is believed that Arsene Wenger will not be coming to Oldham!
Former Latics' legend Neil Redfearn was the latest favourite with the bookmakers. Redfearn will always be remembered as the player that clinched the Second Division Championship for the Latics back in 1991 after scoring the penalty – probably the most important in Athletic's history – that beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 on the last day of the season to earn a long-awaited return to the top flight.
However, Redfearn has just been named the new manager of Liverpool Womens' team so the plot thickens. Former fan Paul Scholes is also being touted, as he usually is, as a possible new boss.
