Ex-England International Steve Howey has just returned from playing for the New England Revolution in USA and is having trials with Athletic. Howey played for Newcastle United and Manchester City and was released by the Sky Blues in the summer of 2003. Since then Howey has been at Leicester, Bolton and New England and hopes to turn out for the reserve side against Bury next Wednesday.
