"I'm hoping to stay in the team here and would like to build a reputation for myself. If I can stay at Oldham and keep Les out of the team when he returns, then that'd be great. I'm going to try and make the most of being here and playing every week, and build my confidence as I go along. Les was unlucky to get injured against Port Vale, and he'd looked really good at Tranmere. I've got to carry on where he left off."
Howarth delighted with performance
Chris Howarth was obviously delighted with his performance in his first full game for the Latics. He told the official site, "It was a good game, a great experience. Swansea have a fantastic front three and it was great to play against them. I didn't really get fazed at all for the penalty, I just decided on the way I was going to dive, and that was that. Fortunately I kept it out."
