Latics’ boss Frankie Bunn is looking forward to the FA Cup match at Hampton & Richmond Borough on Monday night. Bunny enthused, “I'm excited, it's another game and we always get excited before games, plus it's on the telly, so the players will be excited with that, but it's another game we'll enjoy and look to win. I haven't been involved this early in the competition, certainly not as a player, but you see and hear about all these cup upsets and it just brings excitement to the nation. It's a fantastic competition full of history and everybody looks forward to it. Physically and mentally, along with the travel, has taken it out on the players. We've been on the road at Stevenage, then again Tuesday and we'll be on the road Monday. If you take all that into consideration, they've had a tough week even prior to Tuesday, so we thought it would be better if they had a breather, not only from football, but from us as well, so mentally and physically it was a nice refresher. Everyone’s been bright again this morning, looking sharp and energetic and we're looking forward to the game on Monday.”
“It's up to the players to blank everything out and think about themselves and the team, it's one you've got to be mentally tough with. Whenever you go to teams below you in the leagues, it's about the mental approach that the players must be aware of. We all know why the cameras are there, they're not there to watch Oldham specifically, they're there for an upset, so hopefully we can negate that and come through with a positive result. They had a good start to the season, but they've just faltered a little bit recently over the last two weeks, so they've dropped down the table. Oxford City beat them 4-2 on Saturday, but they knock Eastleigh out in the fourth qualifying round to get this far. We've asked teams that they've played previously for some footage and we've got some footage ourselves, so we'll approach it like any other game.”
