Chris Hall, who recently retired from the game, has signed for Stalybridge Celtic. The 20 year old made 24 appearances for the Latics last season but made the decision to "retire" from full time professional football with a year of his contract still to run. He has signed for Celtic, his home-town club, as they will allow him to continue to develop his acting career whilst continuing to play football on a part-time basis.

Stalybridge Chairman Rob Gorski said, "This is a real coup for the club. We are happy to accommodate Chris's career aspirations and we are delighted that he has put pen to paper and signed for us. We now have a truly fabulous forward line and I believe that we can all look forward to an exciting season ahead. It's a new squad that admittedly may take time to gel, but on paper we have a much stronger squad than we did last season and we're all looking forward to the better times ahead. This club is geared for success now and we will be looking for it actively"
