Hall retires from football

Chris Hall has retired from football for personal reasons. The 20 year old striker has been missing from the club after failing to report for his rehabilitation after injury, but he has been in talks with club officials and has now declared that he no longer wishes to be a professional footballer. Hall was recently fined two weeks wages for his misdemeanour, the maximum allowed at the time, and the club are now in the process of contract cancellation arrangements with the Football Association and Football League.

The club have invested heavily in Hall and insist that if he ever wishes to return to the professional game they retain any compensation rights, a clause that the player has agreed to. Hall made 44 appearances, scoring four goals but he has had his head in the clouds regarding his acting career, a career he obviously would rather pursue.

It leaves John Sheridan desperately short of goal scorers as he has players like Chris Porter who has yet to commit to the club and others moving on. Andy Liddell is the only currently contracted first teamer who can play up front.
