Grabban's return leaves a hole

Lewis Grabban's return to Crystal Palace has left a hole to be filled in the team up front. The form of Matty Wolfenden in the reserve team could mean that he has played his way into the squad for Athletic's home match against Leyton Orient tomorrow. 19 year old Matty scored against Carlisle reserves midweek, his third goal in consecutive games, and he has played well since coming back from injury. He was one of the youngest players ever for Athletic when Iain Dowie gave him his debut at the age of 16 years and four months. Now he is a signed professional although he has only made three more senior appearances since.
Lee Duxbury speaks very highly of the youngster and said, “Wolfy has been looking good and I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be ready if he was called into the squad. It isn't long since he came back from injury, but the goals have been going in and he is showing a great touch.”
