Athletic are hoping that the Johnstone's Paint Trophy televised game tomorrow goes ahead in spite of the big freeze. The covers are down at Boundary Park and the forecast for tomorrow is some sun with a temperature of three degrees.
Manager Paul Dickov has appealed for supporters to get down to Boundary Park to support the lads as the 'twelvth man' could have a big bearing on the outcome of the game. He has asked the floating 2,000 supporters who made their way to Anfield in the FA Cup to do the same again and get behind the team just as they did against Liverpool as the players rise to the increased atmosphere.
If the game is level on aggregate after the 90 minutes at Boundary Park the competition will be decided by a penalty shoot-out with no extra time. Away goals will not count so Athletic need to win by two clear goals to go directly through to Wembley – a repeat of the 5-2 league success earlier in the season will do nicely.
