Since the return of John Sheridan there appears to be a feel-good emotion pervading around Boundary Park. The transfer embargo has now been lifted and Shez is hoping to bring in enough new faces to avoid relegation.
Central defender Anthony Gerrard is back at Boundary Park on a two and a half year contract, the first signing for John Sheridan after the lifting of the transfer embargo. Gerrard helped by keeping eight clean sheets in 18 games for the club last season as the first Sheserection came about.
He has been training with the club for the last couple of months and the manager said, “Anthony was a big part of us staying up last season so I’m very pleased to get him signed. The most important thing is he helps us stay in this division and then we look to the future once we have secured our place in this league.”
