Anthony Gerrard has been speaking of his delight to be back at Boundary Park for a third stint. He said, “It’s good to be back. I need some games now. I was supposed to sign at the start of December but unfortunately that couldn’t happen with the club situation but it’s all done and dusted now and hopefully we can push on and do the unthinkable again. The back four has been absolutely fantastic. I have played with Clarkey when I was 16 at Everton. He was a couple of years older than me but I played with him at Huddersfield as well so it will be nice to rekindle the partnership and keep the goals out.”
“There are only six or seven teams above us who have conceded less goals so it’s just the other end of the pitch where we need to rectify things. Hopefully with the new additions we can sort that problem out. I’m not here to coast by and float, I want to have a positive impact like I did last year. We have got to aim again and hopefully we can do that. It’s the Shezurrection part two and hopefully we can rekindle what we had last season and push forward.”
