Latics boss Darren Kelly is disappointed to lose the services of striker Jonathan Forte after he was dismissed for head-butting in Saturdays game at home to Bradford City. Forte will miss the club’s next three games through suspension and the manager will have to rely on the services of Rhys Turner and Simonas Stankevicius unless a temporary replacement is found.
Kelly said, “It is a big blow. You see the quality Jonathan has and he has proven that over the years. He is a big loss. But you have to move on and nothing stands still. It is what it is. It is up to players to come in and stake a claim. Jonathan going out is a chance for someone to put a foothold for a place, working hard and scoring goals.”
