Manager John Sheridan was delighted after sending Fleetwood home with nothing after a convincing 2-0 victory last Saturday.
Sheridan revealed, “It was a really good performance all round. Don't forget this was against a team who are going really well. They're third and are still going for automatic promotion, but we looked a really good team. The lads did everything I asked of them. Our home form has been excellent. That gives me, as a manager, the confidence to know that they will perform. I know they're going to fight for everything, because of where we are in the table, but the way we played doesn't look like we're a team trying to stay in the division. It was just a really good performance. We got the goal, and from then on I thought we were in control. I don't think Connor Ripley had a save to make, and then we got the second and we ended up seeing out the game in just the way I wanted us to.”
“We made it as easy as possible. There were one or two free-kicks coming into our box, but we defended them really well. It's another clean sheet too, so overall I'm chuffed to bits for the players. They should take all the plaudits - I just pick the team. When they go out onto the pitch, they've got to make the decisions and get a grip of each other. I might be on the side shouting all I want, but overall we were tremendous again.”
