The Latics final pre-season friendly resulted in another win, this time at Fleetwood Town and the manager was pleased with the way things went, although he admitted that there is still room for some improvement.
Dickov said, “It was a good workout, but there are still things we can improve on. The boys worked hard, there was a good shape to our team and I am delighted with another clean sheet. I don't think we scored from a set piece last season and we need everybody chipping in with goals. The delivery was good and the big man sneaked round the back to score. Matty Lund is a good footballer. He is a young boy who has not had a lot of football, but his passing range is good and he is technically very gifted on the ball. We want to bring quality into the squad and Matty definitely has that. We are nowhere near where I want us to be, but there are positive signs.”
