Ex-Latics hero David Eyres is being given trials by neighbours Bury. The 42 year old winger left Boundary Park in last summer and is hoping to impress Shakers boss Chris Casper enough to win a contract at the League Two team. Eyres has been around the north-west for the whole of his career and his professional attitude and temprament have made him a firm favourite at all the clubs he has played for.
The oldest outfield player in the league started his career at Blackpool then moved to Burnley and Preston before joining the Latics in 2000. He played over 200 games for Latics scoring more than 40 goals and was looking for a coaching job before he was dismissed at Boundary Park. All at Oldham Mad wish David success and hope that he gets his wishes fulfilled.
