Paul Edwards has joined Craig Rocastle after agreeing a move to Port Vale. Edwards, 27, was one of the players to be offered a new deal at Latics but decided to move to Vale Park. He joined the Latics on a free transfer from Blackpool in 2005 and although he began last season well enough, a knee injury put him out of Sheridan's team, and subsequently out of Sheridan's first team plans. He was left with limited chances and his opportunities were limited to substitute appearances. Edwards made 13 starts with 19 appearances as a substitute.
