Latics' young defender George Edmundson is in demand after a very successful season on the field. Stoke City and Rangers have shown interest but the latest suitors are Championship side Preston North End who are keen to sign him, although he is still under contract.
Edmundson is 21-year-old, made 54 appearances last season and was named in the official PFA League Two Team of the Year. In addition, he won the Oldham Athletic Community Trust Player of the Season and the Players’ Player of the Season awards.
Scunthorpe United had a £200,000 bid rejected in the January transfer window after stiff competition from Wigan Athetic, Fleetwood Town and Peterborough United. Latics' fans are hoping the young defender stays as they are desperate to get back into League One.
