Latics prospect Neal Eardley has signed an extension to his Boundary Park contract. Eardley penned a three year deal in the summer of 2006 but he has been offered a one year extension to that contract and he has agreed. Eardley has impressed since he made his debut at the end of the 2005-06 season and made his first full International debut for Wales as a substitute in the 1-0 friendly win over Bulgaria in Burgas in August and then John Toshack handed him his first International start in the 2-1 Euro 2008 Qualifying win over San Marino earlier this month.
Still only 18 year old, the youngster has already passed a half century of first-team appearances for the club. Alan Hardy told the official website, "Neal continues to show promise and is now a full Wales international, so it was only right that we tie him up for a longer period and safeguard our interests and the player's."
