Dowie comments on Blackburn win

After in win over Premiership Blackburn Rovers, Latics manager Iain Dowie had the following to say, “We're enormously grateful for Graeme Souness and his boys to come over with the quality they had in the squad and the team they put out was full of top quality people. I was very aware and talked long and hard about the movement that Cole and Yorke posess and it's a great lesson for our young players, again we finished the game with 8 under 18's, it's a huge learning curve."

We're not getting carried away, it's only pre-season, I thought Danny Hall was outstanding again, the midfield trio did very well, Josh is a constant threat and you can't go too much further without mentioning the back three, they'll deal with problems and the front two started to combine well and we hadn't really seen that from them yet. Wheaty's starting to get fit and Scott's getting confidence and that's what he'll give you. He can finish Scott. One of the best I've worked with in terms of finishing. We've just got to get him believing how good a player he can be.”
