Dowie comments after the Chesterfield draw

Iain Dowie had the following to say after the draw at Chesterfield, "I thought for ten minutes in the first half we played very well. We got to grips with it and then they changed their system. There were little bits of sloppiness. Sloppy balls out from the back and a couple of sloppy kicks out from Les. They got a bit of a head of steam and then we gave away a goal from a set piece. Les came for it but didn't get near it and we didn't deal with the header."

"We were disappointed in that and for the rest of the half I didn't think we got going so I wasn't best pleased. I said I wanted more energy and drive and I thought we did that. Calvin was like a switched flick in the second half. He's got outstanding ability and he was very unlucky not to get two goals. If he had headed it like last week he would have scored and we've been working all week on heading it down. He headed it down and somehow the keeper got his foot on it and it went over."

"The goal was a good ball from Scott Vernon who I also thought livened up in the second half. In the first half the front two weren't bright enough although Calvin was more lively in the latter stages of the first half. It was a very cool, composed finish. Tony Philliskirk and myself work on that with him and he did it very well. It's no more than he deserved."
