Don't rule out a late swoop for players before the signing deadline on Thursday. Simon Corney says he is confident of signing new players and hopes to complete at least one deal, maybe more, as the Latics make their final push for promotion to the Championship.

Mr. Corney said, "Money is available for new signings and we'll do everything we can to add a couple of fresh faces to the squad. It has been difficult to find the right people who are willing to move, but I'm confident we'll get there in the end."

Leon Clarke's one month loan can be extended after the deadline so the priority will be to bring in another defender and a midfielder.
