Paul Dickov reflected on the home draw against Colchester on Tuesday and said, “When you take into consideration our young team and the experience in their side, it was not such a bad point on reflection. It is disappointing, however, when you go into the last 10 minutes with a 1-0 lead and don't come away with three points and it does feel like a defeat.”
He also commented on the youngsters who have recently been promoted to the first team and pointed out, “They haven't had a lot of game time recently, but they came through it ever so well. We are going to make mistakes, even the most experienced teams do. What we have to do is not to get on their backs and make sure they learn from their mistakes which takes time. We must keep encouraging them because we have some really good young players at the club. They were excellent on Saturday and did a good job on Tuesday. There are a lot of 18, 19 and 20-year-olds in the team and the more games they play the better they will become.”
