Goalkeeper Zeus De La Paz is standing in for Daniel Iversen while he is away on International duty. He performed well in the games against Barnsley and also in the 1-0 home defeat by Newport on Saturday.
De La Paz said, “It's a big chance for me and I've got to take every opportunity I get, I know Iversen's going to be away a couple more times this season so I just have to work hard for my chance and do what I have to do to get that opportunity. I found it wonderful on Tuesday, I felt great, the atmosphere was great, the fans were great, and the team were great, I really enjoyed it and I want to have more of it. I don’t really change my preparation for a game whether I'm playing or not because I'm always prepared. Anything can happen whether it be the first minute or last, it happens in football, so you have to be ready and prepared for that moment.”
“He's (Iversen) a good lad and we get along well, he's done great for us so far and saved us a couple of points, so I can't take that away from him, but I like working with him. He likes to have a nibble at me in training and talk, but I give it back so it's a good relationship and it’s all good fun. Curaçao (his national team) have a great first team goalkeeper, but I'm younger than him by a few years, so I think I’m one for the future. I just want to get games in, so I can be ready for anything if something happens and I get a call up, which is the same with Oldham, if anything happens I just want to be ready.”
