Moussa Dabo has been sacked by Athletic. Dabo still had more than a year left on his contract and he appealed against the decision. Dabo has displayed several breaches of club discipline including failing to turn up for work and he was officially warned over six weeks ago. His appeal plans have now been dropped following consultation with the players' union, the PFA. The supporters have been critical of the midfielder as he has been a disappearing 'Houdini' character who has never played in the first team. His only claim to fame at Boundary Park has been as an unused substitute. It was time to get rid of someone who was simply a 'wasted wage'. Well done the Latics administration.
