In a last day window swoop Athletic have signed 23 year old Algerian Nasser Daineche until the end of the current season. His International clearance has been accepted and he will play in the Manchester Senior Cup Tie at Manchester City. Nasser is a 6'-3" defender who played for French club Le Havre and is rumoured to be a future International player. Only in his first season with Le Harve, his movement from the club is surrounded by controversy.
It has been announced that Daineche and team-mate Rafik Zoheir Djebbour have both been allowed to leave because they have been accused of not trying in their last game, a 7-1 loss. Both players were also refused contract extensions. Even more controversially the players were accused of stealing equipment from the club. Could trouble be brewing for the Latics?
