Manager John Sheridan has added the name of midfielder Kevin Maher to his list of summer signings. Maher has signed a one year deal after passing a medical at Boundary Park and will go straight into the team to take on Derby County. The signing is Shez's seventh as he builds a squad that looks very capable of successfully gaining a play-off or automatic promotion place.Maher ended last term on loan at Gillingham after helping to win two promotions with Southend and the experienced player has a total career record of 462 senior appearances with 25 goals scored. The Latics had beat off competition for Maher, who had been a free agent since leaving the Shrimpers at the end of last season.
